
Iris Krishna, MD, MPH - Bio
Dr. Krishna was raised in New Orleans, LA and received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans where she obtained a Bachelors of Science with honors in Cell and Molecular Biology, Psychology, and Anthropology. She then went on to pursue a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She worked in public health for 2 years at the Louisiana Office of Public Health before pursuing her medical degree. She received her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA where she developed an interest in women’s health. She recently completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University where she was awarded for her clinical accomplishments in obstetrics.
Dr. Krishna’s goal is to combine her background in both public health and medicine to provide comprehensive healthcare to her patients. Her areas of clinical interest include: family planning, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, infectious diseases in obstetrics and gynecology, minimally invasive techniques, fibroids, ultrasound, and preventive medicine. Dr. Krishna is trained in high and low risk obstetrics and gynecologic surgery such as vaginal and abdominal hysterectomies, endometrial ablation, hysteroscopy, and laparoscopy. Dr. Krishna encourages her patients to take an active role in their care and looks forward to establishing lifelong continuity with patients of all ages as they experience some of the most important moments of their lives.
Dr. Krishna presently resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and son. She enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, cooking, spending time with her family, and is fluent in Spanish.
